Mountain Water Company began using radio-read meters in January of 2000 and since then over 10,000 have been installed in Missoula. These meters have a transmitter that sends a low power radio signal to a computer installed in one of our trucks which enables the meter reader to drive by and collect readings without going onto the customer’s property. With these newer meters, we can now offer a history of your usage for a 24 hour time period anytime within the month the meter is read.
