Mountain Water Company (MWC) is working on a plan to remove the walkway over its Rattlesnake Creek intake dam, which is located approximately ½ mile north of the north end of Duncan Drive. Below is a photograph of the intake dam and walkway. The walkway, vertical supports and sluice gate operating stems visible in the picture are being removed to eliminate the hazard associated with removal of debris that gets trapped on the vertical obstructions. The sluice gates (shown in the picture passing water) will remain in place. This project is an important step to eliminate the hazards associated with removal of debris by employees. MWC is also working on a long term plan for continued operation and maintenance of the dam structure.
