Tucked in behind the Missoulian, on the Riverfront Trail System between the Higgins Street Bridge and Madison Street Bridge is Missoula’s Water-Wise Garden. Created as a joint project of Mountain Water Company, The Missoulian, the City of Missoula, and hundreds of volunteers, the Water-Wise Garden is an ongoing demonstration of the practicality of water conservation. Intended as an educational forum, the Water-Wise Garden has also come to be a focal point for the community, demonstrating that beauty and conservation can go hand in hand. It’s an excellent example of how a community can work together for the education and enjoyment of everyone.
